BUILDINGS ILLUSTRATION

Buildings illustrations

Are you looking for a unique illustration of a building or architectural design? Then you’ve come to the right place!
My passion for buildings and architecture comes to life in my illustrations. I capture the unique details—from roof tiles to the distinctive textures of stone. Every building has its own character and story, and I love translating that visually.

Whether it’s a historic landmark, a modern design, or even your own home, I create both black-and-white and colorful illustrations. I can also incorporate elements that align with the client’s branding, ensuring a cohesive result. Building illustrations aren’t just beautiful for books—they’re also perfect as decorations in restaurants, cafés, or as a personal artwork for your home.

Individual buildings

Sometimes it’s nice to have a supporting illustration alongside a text—something to give the words a little extra “swing.”
The illustrations above were created for Hotel New York (left) and Edificio La Adriatica in Seville (right). Would you like an illustration of your favorite building or home too?

City of Rotterdam, Department of Cultural Heritage & Monuments

On commission from the City of Rotterdam, Department of Cultural Heritage & Monuments, I created my own version of Rotterdam’s skyline and an illustration of typical Rotterdam buildings in the Post-65 style. This illustration will be used for brochures, the website, and events.

Building Illustration: Rotterdam Skyline |

This illustration effectively reflects the layers of monuments in Rotterdam. (Early 1900s, 1930s, post-war buildings, buildings from after 1965, and a few modern buildings like Central Station and De Rotterdam, which truly belong to Rotterdam.)

Post 65

For the City of Rotterdam, I created an illustration featuring three iconic Post-65 buildings: De Zonnetrap, Tropicana, and Akragon. This unique drawing was also printed on linen bags, which were handed out during the opening of the “Rotterdam Cultural City” exhibition at Omi Rotterdam.
Drawing of the Haagsche Bluf
I have drawn all the different facades together so that it has become a street. The size of this drawing is A2 format.
Haagsche Bluf with color
This illustration has been scanned and I have put a Dutch sky with seagulls behind it.

Skyline of Rotterdam

A fictional image of Rotterdam featuring the Markthal, De Rotterdam, cranes, and more. This poster is available as a print.

Lekker. Doetinchem

I’ve started a wonderful collaboration with the city of Doetinchem and created a drawing of the city. It’s not an exact representation of Doetinchem, but rather a collage of all the hotspots and beautiful buildings, allowing you to view the city from a fresh perspective. The illustration will be available in a 30x40 cm format starting November 2, 2024, at various businesses in Doetinchem. More information can be found on the Lekker.Doetinchem website.

Villa Ruimzicht Doetinchem

I created a drawing for Villa Ruimzicht. In this video, you can see Villa Ruimzicht and how I drew the building (inside the building itself!)
Villa Ruimzicht holds a special meaning for me, as I took art classes here during high school. Nowadays, Villa Ruimzicht serves as a hotel and restaurant, but I captured it in this drawing.

Den Bosch - De Sint Janskathedraal

I drew the Sint Jans Cathedral with pen for the story of the Erwtenman in the book Brabantse Volksverhalen. The original drawing was made on A2 paper and then reduced to book size.

A fictional castle adorns the book cover Brabant Folkstories.

It is made up of these churches and one castle in the Netherlands:

• Sint-Janskathedraal (Den Bosch)

• Basiliek (Oudenbosch)

• Peperbus (Bergen op Zoom)

• Kasteel Helmond (Helmond)

• De Grote Kerk (Breda)

This video shows a time-lapse of the drawing process for the book cover.

Breda

The architecture of Breda is captivating, with its charming windows and numerous turrets. These unique buildings give the city a special character. Below you’ll find a selection of my illustrations, both in black and white and in color. These works showcase the diversity and beauty of Breda’s architecture.

The Hague

Drawing of the Haagsche Bluf
The Haagsche Bluf is a unique shopping area in The Hague, featuring replicas of historic European facades. Built in the 1990s, it blends old-world charm with modern functionality, creating a picturesque and vibrant setting in the city center.
I combined all the different facades into one continuous street in this drawing. The size of this illustration is A2 format.

New York Rooftop

A drawing I created of a rooftop terrace in New York, inspired by imagination. I’ve always been fascinated by New York—the layers, the patterns, and the incredible architecture. Alongside my love for illustrating people, social scenes, and plants, this drawing brings it all together in one piece. It’s also available as a high-quality print.
